Study: The Sabbath (S)
My annotations in “blue bold”
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reveal the intimate relationship between the Creation and the plan of salvation.
The “Sabbath” today is designated as the FIRST day of the week. Most every Protestant church follows the Roman Catholic church dogma of keeping the “first day” which is Sunday against the clear and plain teaching of Holy Scripture.
Jesus made the Sabbath Himself! The very one who ALL of “Chirstiandom” follows, DENYS Him by going against His very creation. Jesus made the SABBATH DAY on the day following the SIXTH day of creation. He called it “HOLY”, He called it His Holy Day, and yet ALL of mainline Christianity despise it, and call it a common thing, and choose rather to keep a day of worship, that Jesus Himself DID NOT keep. Jesus kept the day He created on the “Seventh Day of creation, and He kept it throughout His earthly sojourn. Luk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, [the Seventh Day] and stood up for to read.
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [If you stop personally doing your own thing] from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Nowhere in scripture is it found, where we are commanded to keep holy the first day of the week. This keeping of the first day of the week is “PAGAN” in its origin, and came to Protestantism through the Roman Catholic church. There was NEVER a command from God to keep this day for worship, it comes from the “sea beast” alone. Below is what God says, NOT WHAT I SAY!
Joh 1:1 In the beginning [At Creation] was the Word, [Jesus] and the Word [Jesus] was with God, and the Word [Jesus] was God.
Joh 1:2 The same [Jesus] was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things [Everything in Existence] were made by him; [Jesus] and without him [Jesus] was not any thing made that was made.
As you know the name Jesus was given to God at the incarnation. The angel told Mary that His name would be called Jesus.
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
The name Jesus means “Savior” it was a heavenly designation that involved His mission to Earth, however there was another name given Him by Isaiah the prophet. [IMMANUEL]
There are only TWO verses that designate both the name Jesus, and only TWO that designate the name Immanuel.
Isa_7:14 Therefore the Lord [the FATHER] himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isa_8:8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel. The name Immanuel means “God with Us”, Jesus is GOD!
QUESTION: Then why is He called the Son of God?
ANSWER: He was called the Son of God, because He was, as you and I are, sons and daughters of God, we were begotten in the wombs of our mothers, by a human father. Jesus was “begotten” by the power of the Holy Spirit alone. Because of His Earthly sojourn, He was designated as the “Only Begotten of God, as a “HUMAN”, but this was a unique Human, He had TWO distinct characters, one human and the other DIVINE. The “ONLY” human to ever be so. Jesus was called the “only begotten of the Father”, because He was the only human with those TWO distinct characters to ever live as a human being among human beings. He was NOT called the “Only Begotten Son of God” in heaven, He was called MICHAEL the ARCH ANGEL! The word ARCH used as a prefix [Arch Angel]means: Chief, highest, most important Jesus as Michael was the Chief of the Angels, the Highest, Most important of the Heavenly Host. When Joshua saw Him before the incarnation, as they were getting ready to cross the Jordon into the promise land towards Jerico. Michael told Joshua that He was “ the Captain of the Lords Host” and He accepted Joshuas “worship.” No angel is worshiped ONLY God deserves worship.
Jos 5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
Jos 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD [the Father] am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord [my God] unto his servant?
Jos 5:15 And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
The same thing was told Joshua here, that Jesus told Moses at the burning bush, He told him to remove his shoes, because His very presence made the ground which Joshua stood on “Holy Ground.” This was Michael, the CAPTIAN of the LORD host, the leader of ALL the Angelic Host. Michael is Jesus, Jesus is Michael. Michael means: “The ONE who is as God is!"
This same God made everything, He made ALL creation, He made the unending vastness of the known and unknown universe, and ALL that is in them, Everything made, Jesus made it.
This same and only God made the Sabbath Day, and He made it for man alone. The angels in heaven were NOT aware of any “Sabbath Day”, it did NOT exist prior to the creation as we know it. The SABBATH was made for man, but it will be carried over into eternity, because it was a day Jesus “blessed”, He blessed it because He wanted to use it to commune with the [MAN/MANKIND] He made. The day was made HOLY for the specific use of communing with God, between God and man.
Jesus said: Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: [This means that “man” cannot dictate the “Sabbath”, God has dictated the day, and man cannot change it.]
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. [He is the LORD sovereign over the day He Himself made at creation.]
In ancient Israel, once the “blessing” was spoken it could NOT be withdrawn. We have an example of a “blessing” set in stone so to speak, when Isaac blessed Jacob over Esau.
Gen 27:33 And Isaac trembled [Isaac trembled because he knew the order of the blessing, and realized he had taken away his “firstborns” blessing, and he could NOT change it.] very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. [In other words it could NOT be changed or moved ONCE uttered.]
Gen 27:35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.
Gen 27:37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
When Jesus made and blessed the “Sabbath Day”, it was “BLESSED” for ALL eternity at its’ creation. The PROOF is here:
Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
QUESTION: If the “SABBATH” the seventh day, is going to be worshipped in the Earth made new, where will be the “first day of the week” SUNDAY be in the weekly order, in the New Earth. If we will worship before God on the “Sabbath” what then happens on the day following?
ANSWER: We will be doing our work as stated here: Isa 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
Isa 65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
My friends’ there is a TRUTH, and we are responsible to learn of it. If we do NOT, we will be totally surprised when we get to heaven. We will have the surprise of our lives.
Protestant churches today preach what they think is the Bible. The poor folks come and greet each other, they set in their respective classes and read a few bible verses. They discuss these verses and when the class is over, the preacher, preaches most often times on a completely different subject than what was discussed in those classes. The people leave the church and go home and it’s as though they were never in the house of God. During the sports seasons, they watch the Sunday afternoon games, or they mow the lawn. Some go fishing between the morning service and the evening service, others go out to eat at restaurants, and still others get involved with absolutely other worldly pursuits. Worldy habits are entertained, television games, and TV shows are watched between the morning and the evening services. There is absolutely NOTHING “holy” about Sunday worship. And if one draws attention to this kind of “cheap service”, those folks get offended because they know, their guilty of doing exactly those things. There’s NO holy atmosphere in the home or in their minds once they leave the church parking lot. They think that just because they may be doing work at the church, maybe cleaning or keeping up the church lawn that this work most of the time is a paid position. It helps the church building, BUT it merits ABSOLUTELY nothing before God.
Then there is the mid-week service that many just by-pass, it’s not important to them. They believe that as long as they go on Sunday and Sunday night that, that is worship. Most of them go to be seen by their friends, and to see their friends. It’s a social gathering more than a “holy meeting” before God. THERE’S NOTHING HOLY AT ALL ABOUT SUNDAY WORSHIP, and most of them do NOT give the required tenth of their income to the cause of God, they may put in five dollars here or ten there, and do this consistently BUT that’s NOT tithing.
Because of this kind of giving there were TWO, a husband and wife who God killed because they did NOT give what they pledged. [PROPER Giving is IMPORTANT to God] as it causes expansion of the church.
Act 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
Act 5:2 And kept back part of the price, [Do we keep back part of our income from God?] his wife also being privy to it, [They agreed together] and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. [Partial GIVING is NOT acceptable to GOD]
Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? [He LIED by his ACTIONS], one can lie without opening their mouth. You can "lie" by your actions!
Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
Act 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
Act 5:6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
Act 5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. [She AGREED to keep back part of the dedicated proceeds they agreed to give to God for the advancement of the church]
Act 5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? [Peter gave her a chance to tell the truth] And she said, Yea, for so much. [GREED is LETHAL when it’s Gods part of our INCOME]
Act 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
Act 5:10 Then fell she down straightway [INSTANTLY] at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
How many church members, are withholding monies from God? JUST this one SIN alone will keep many from the kingdom of God. NOTICE here what He says about this SIN.
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Many so called Christians, claim to be Christians, they religiously attend church, mostly for social reasons. I wonder how many of them cross the threshold of the church door, with the sole purpose of heart to worship God. How many of them in their hearts say “I am here to commune with you LORD, and for NO other reason", yes I will do unto others as I would have them do unto me, but I will worship you ALONE this moment. Most folks dress NOT in their best clothes, but just whatever they can get by with, when they come before the KING OF the UNIVERSE. If they tried to approach an earthly monarch wearing simpleton clothes, in some cases it’s the “death penalty.” It will be the DEATH PENALTY in the consummation as well. A LOT of people believe that God doesn’t care what one wears, and that’s NOT true, however we SHOULD care what we wear before HEAVENS MONARCH, regardless of what others might think. If we have our best on, it’s a show of RESPECT to God. GRANTED we are not there to be seen of others, BUT we are seen of GOD.
Half-Hearted worship and dress, are written in the books of remembrance in heaven. How can a Christian claim to follow Jesus, and NOT follow Him in their best attire? Does Jesus expect us to dress a certain way when we come before Him?
Deu_22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Deu_22:11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
NOTICE: How many women are wearing men’s clothes the next time you go to your church? You should NOT see any men wearing women’s clothes hopefully, BUT you will see many women wearing that, that pertains to the man. As above GOD does NOT change, what He says He means, and what He means He speaks. Will this keep one from heaven? Are you willing to take the chance with eternal life? Should a woman look like a woman before God? Should a man look like a man before God?
When God made the Sabbath, He made it for a specific reason. It will last throughout eternity, It is the seventh day NOT the first day of the week. Why do we believe God when He says come unto me, but we don’t believe Him when He says to keep the seventh day Sabbath? DO we HALF believe Him?
Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Isa 56:4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; [The SABBATH is a big part of Gods covenant to us, we need to understand that.]
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
