The door for entry was on the EAST side of the court yard.
[This was symbolic of the Second coming of Jesus, by the way of the EAST]
Exo 27:13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.
Exo 27:14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.
Exo 27:15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

This was the Earthly tabernacle/temple, BUT there is a Heavenly temple, [the Anti-Type] in which this one [Type] or Tabernacle "Tent of Meeting", was patterned after. John saw it in vision as recorded in Revelation 11.

Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
 Rev 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. [John saw Jesus in the Heavenly Sanctuary]

The sanctuary in heaven is the ORIGINAL shown to Moses in the Mount, and he was told to make the temporary “temple/sanctuary” for Gods presence, after the original which had the same furnishings, as the tabernacle of meeting. This tent of meeting was Gods show-n-tell of the plan of salvation. The ceremonial services were meant to teach the people the processes of “repentance and confession”, as well as obedience. That obedience is of the utmost “priority” with God, the details of the ceremonies were to be explicitly followed as prescribed, down to the very color and material of the dress they (the Priest) wore, for these ceremonies.

Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.      Revelation 1:11-18

Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: [As out Great High Priest in the Heavenly sacntuary]
Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; [On the Day of Atonement]
Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. [Here is another scripture that verifies that we have been living in the “End Time” ever since the Crucifixion of Jesus.]

When the person brought their “sacrifice” to the door of the tabernacle, they were handed a “knife”, and they were to lay their hands on the head of the lamb and “confess their sin”, then the “sinner” or the one who brought the lamb, had to “slit the throat” of this lamb, and the priest would catch “the blood” in a bowl to be used for the service. Thus, transferring symbolically their personal “sin” from themselves to the lamb. This gave them, the understanding that it would take “another”, something outside of themselves, the promised “seed of the woman” in Genesis to resolve the problem of “SIN.” Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. [This speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross]

Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. [The patterns here is speaking of the Earthly sanctuary, which were symbolically purified, by the “blood” of animals. But the Heavenly with the Blood of Jesus Christ.]

Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. [Jesus][Crucifixion]
Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. [While Jesus was alive]

Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; [In Heaven]
Heb 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

John 1:29: Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! Jesus is the Lamb of God – signified by the lamb sacrificed upon the altar in the Jewish rituals.

Revelation 11:19; 12:17; 14:12: Human beings are called to enter a relationship with God involving all of the symbols of the sanctuary . . . As the people who enter the relationship with the Creator, they are called to keep His commandments and to have the faith of Jesus.

Appeal: Would you like to enter a growing, developmental relationship with Jesus Christ through the knowledge of the wonderful symbolism of the sanctuary?
Rev 12:17 And the dragon [SATAN] was wroth with the woman, [CHURCH] and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, [Gods People] which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony [The ability to understand Prophecy] of Jesus Christ.
Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. [The ability to search and understand prophecy]

AMEN
